The New Moon and Manifesting

11/11/2015

The new moon is the birthing cycle of the moon's various phases. Are you ready to attract your heartfelt longings and passion for life  by doing a moon ritual focused on manifestation? The new moon phase is the perfect time for planning and seeding your intentions. Seedlings need a period of gestation before they break through the soil and reach for the sunlight in order to blossom. This is also true for cultivating our ideas,  intentions and clearing the way for our visions to grow and blossom in reality.
The dark side of the moon,  offers a nurturing environment where our ideas & intentions can establish a strong foundation of roots before they  begin to sprout and reach out to the stars, much like when we reach for the stars, right? Moon Ritual for Birthing or Growing Your Wishes and Desires Begin by setting aside a few minutes each month during the new moon phase to focus on your intent for the coming month or the birth of your ideas and intentions. This will help give you clarity of mind and hope for the fresh start or the growth you've been searching for.  When it comes to setting goals or planning ahead for your future there is no better time to get started than during the new moon. Any intentions stated or written down  carries so much power during this time, so please take care in considering those things that you truly want. The saying "Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it." is more than fair warning whenever setting your new moon intentions into motion.  But, nothing to panic over.  The moon has its phases and so do our individual wants and needs at any given time. This is why it's always good to go over your list of intentions each month when another new moon cycle returns for a visit to make sure it's still in alignment with your desires.
  • Prep for Upcoming New Moon Manifestation if you like to do a ritual
  • Set aside 20-30 minutes or maybe an hour to do the ritual itself. It will get quicker the more you do it.
  • Options for supplies:
    • notebooks/diaries/journals
    • pen and colored markers - there's nothing wrong with drawing your intention if you are not good with words.
    • scissors
    • sellotape
    • candle
    • matches
    • incense - any type is fine, it's all about intention, trust and belief after all.
    • smudge sticks
    • meditation CDs/youtube/pandora
  • Prepare yourself a sacred space where your will perform the ceremony when the new moon arrives. This could be outside, in a sacred space inside or on the beach if you wish.

Setting your New Moon Intentions in Motion
  • Cleanse your sacred area/space with an opening prayer, a good sage smudging of yourself and the area, and/or by burning some incense.

  • Light some candles, I love to smell the burning candles around me but tend to go with something not too sickly sweet as the smudging and or/incense can become quite overpowering.

  • Center yourself, relax, clear your mind and calm yourself in whatever way works for you. Take some deep cleansing breaths (three is good), pop on a meditation CD if you wish and get yourself as comfy as possible.

  • Open your journal etc, and write what comes to you OR write down these words "I accept these intentions into my life now or better opportunities for my highest good and for the highest good of all concerned." whatever feels good to you.  Next comes your affirmation statement, begin by writing down all your desires/intentions/wishes. Your list may be super small or you may have several pages listing loads of different things, there is no limit or minimum. Try not to limit yourself and think BIG.  Imagine you have a magic genie in front of you, what would you ask for?

A second notebook/piece of paper will be used as a Manifestation Board or Dream Board where you can paste in pictures/ clippings/drawings of items that you are wanting to manifest. Creating manifesting vision boards is a fun project to undertake, it's fun to do with the kids too! You will soon be amazed how these things begin to find their way into your life once you start this process. Don't forget to cross each thing that HAS manifested off your list, you may even like to redo the list so as to familiarize yourself again with your intentions and put it out to the universe again.

Each month start a fresh list, you can add some of last months wishes onto it, but always start a new so as not to block yourself with cross-outs and universal pathways being blocked to receiving your most heartfelt wishes.  I tend to write them in a journal so i can look back at how far i've come, the changes in what  I choose to manifest for myself and to write a wee note on the page next to it at the time of the full moon to remind myself how much of the list was manifested that month into reality.  It doesn't have to always be big things that you manifest it could be tickets to the ballet, lunch with a friend you haven't seen in awhile, a day of pampering you, a much-needed sleep, doing this will allow you to see things can manifest a lot quicker than you realize when you hold intent. You may think that smaller things are too trivial to put on your intention list... Wrong! Things that tend to manifest with less effort still deserve to be written down and felt gratitude for.  Write down everything that you desire, no matter how little.  If it is something that adds to your happiness why not write it down. Manifesting smaller items on our lists actually creates a steady flow of fantastic energy giving your list an even bigger boost. These smaller manifestations create forward movement and that in itself is great for the rest of your New Moon Intention List.  .  Sometimes we forget to appreciate the smaller pleasures in our lives while we are waiting for the BIG stuff to come in, this is the perfect opportunity to feel gratitude and to form an understanding of abundance rather than lack which can leave you feeling defeated.  If you only write statements like, "I want to win the big lottery or huge on the horses" in your journal  then you are limiting yourself by not allowing abundance to flow to you from a multitude of avenues, something which is VERY important to remember.

So amazing souls get yourself going on your dream boards and journals and lets create a wave of abundance this New Moon.

Love and Warm Blessings to all

The Emotional Empath & Relationships

9/11/2015

When working with many Empaths both in mentoring and in workshops I’ve seen many highly sensitive people called emotional empaths who unknowingly absorb the stress and pain of others, including their partners, family or children.  Intimate relationships are a challenge for emotional empaths because they are the sponges of the world and tend to get overwhelmed very easily. Without being aware of it although they want that love connection more than ever, they avoid romantic partnerships and intimacy because deep down they’re afraid of getting engulfed by other people's emotions.

I can relate to this because I am an empath.  I know that feeling of wanting to cuddle and then NEEDING to roll away into your own energy and space as you sleep. That pain in your heart as you feel your partners overwhelming love for you on top of your own overwhelming love for them, so much so that your heart begins to hurt or you burst into tears because the emotion is just too intense to handle.

Emotional Empaths are a unique and wonderful species.  Whereas others may thrive in bliss on the togetherness of being a couple, for emotional empaths like me, too much togetherness can be hard to take and may cause us to bolt or hide away for some energy breathing room.  Why? We tend to intuit and absorb our partner’s emotions and become anxious or exhausted when we don’t have time to decompress in our own personal energy space.  It's hard enough living in the world with energy running around us constantly that when we are within in our own four walls it's important to be able to breathe and just be in our own energy for awhile.   You may need to help others by educating them of your needs—make it clear that this isn’t about not loving them or wanting to push them away.  Once you are able to do this, you’re able to build relationships filled with understanding.

We’re what I like to call super-responders (that's right we have super powers lol); our emotional empath experience of a relationship is the equivalent of feeling objects with 100 senses instead of the five we are given.  Think of all those times you feel a little off,  you speak with your partner and realise it's them that's a little off you have just connected so deeply with them that you feel their aura and their emotions as your own.  You know intuitively if they are feeling off, sick, upset or happy just as a mother intuitively knows when there's something wrong with her child.  You bond at the heart, but you bond within the aura and your partners emotions to some degree as well.  It took me a long time to realise just how much that can affect a relationship and the need for personal energy space.

For Emotional empaths to be at ease in a relationship, they must set emotional boundaries.  This means asserting your personal space needs—the physical and time limits you set with someone so you don’t feel they’re on top of you, it's essential this is a conversation that your partner is included in before they start to feel closed out and like you're ignoring them or running away, communication is key.  Emotional Empaths can’t fully experience intimacy with another until they do this.  Next to communicating your needs with your partner it is also essential that the emotional/physical empath sets boundaries for personal space at home, and in public places.  If you have not set your boundaries and don't know how to keep yourself emotionally safe and protected it is very hard to stay clear and prevent yourself from getting overwhelmed in public situations.

All of us have an invisible energetic boundary fence that sets a comfort level in which we are able to relax. Identifying and communicating yours will prevent you from being drained by others you surround yourself with. Then intimacy can blossom, even if you’ve felt suffocated and blocked in before.

Here are some tips to help you find your personal space within a relationship:

As you’re getting to know someone, share that you’re a sensitive, empathic person and that you may need some quiet time often in order to stay balanced.  Most partners will be understanding and it also gives your partner a chance to voice some of their needs; the wrong person will put you down for being “overly sensitive,” (have you heard that one before?) and won’t respect your needs.

Emotional Empaths require solitude and some downtime to regroup and rebalance. Even a small amount of time to escape prevents emotional overload and unbalance. Retreat for five minutes into the toilet. Take a walk around the block or if you're lucky enough in nature/the beach. Read or listen to music in a separate room.  It's self-care, it's not selfish don't forget you emotional empaths you are allowed time for you too, it's not always about giving.

Normally you would have your partner sleep in the same bed. However, some empaths never get used to this, it can feel suffocating and make it hard for the empath to sleep, no matter how wonderful and caring the partner may be.  It's nothing personal; they just like their own sleep space, especially if they are around public spaces throughout the day such as work.  Communication for your needs is essential to help your partner understand it's nothing against them, and that there is no need to feel insecure. Feeling trapped in bed with someone, not getting a good night’s rest,  can be torture. Energy fields (aura's) blend during sleep, which can overstimulate empaths to the point of insanity if it carries on night after night.  It could be as simple as protecting your energy field when you go to bed or maybe even sleeping in separate beds or rooms a couple of nights a week just to keep balance.

It takes an understanding partner to understand the needs of an Empath but it's not impossible and that's why it's so important to really know yourself and what you need to keep balanced in all areas of your life.  Once you’re able to articulate your needs, being comfortable in an intimate relationship is completely possible.

Love and Warm Blessings to all

Claim Back Your Health & Wellbeing!

Your Chakras are powerful  spinning energy vortexes connected to your physical body. Each one relates to different organs of your body and different aspects of your being.
When they are open and flowing in balance, everything works in harmony.
When they are closed or unbalanced you can feel unwell, you may have disease or constant illness.  Reiki Healing is a fantastic way to balance out all of your Energy Centers and help you move forward in abundance in all areas of your life.

Your time to claim back your health & Well-being is NOW!
It's like this when our energy centers are not in balance:

  • Troubles with self-esteem, low energy or self-worth?
That's your Yellow Chakra (energy center)
  • Having a hard time speaking your truth about something or to someone? Throat Chakra
  • Feeling chaotic, full of worry about finances, relationships or stability?
It's time to balance your Root Chakra
  • Do compassion and giving come easily to you? That's all your  Heart Chakra right there.
  • Wish you were more creative or sensual or having issues with intimacy, or lower back pain?
    Fire up the Orange Chakra
  • Do you have great intuition? Do you get headaches or migraines?
That's connected to the Brow Chakra
  • How's meditation going for you? Are you confused, stuck and don't know what direction to go in? Connection to source is Crown Chakra

The Root Chakra -  The Red chakra located at the base of the spine.  It's Sanskrit name ismuladhara.   It is associated with our connection to earth, survival, health, abundance, family, passion, and moving forward in life.

If the root (base) chakra becomes unbalanced, you may feel "stuck" and just can't seem to move forward in life like your feet are stuck in quicksand and you can't put your best foot forward.  You may feel ungrounded,  This frequently happens following traumatic events, family problems, death of a loved one, and major life changes.  A blockage in the root chakra prevents the release of grief, guilt, and sadness, contributing to the inability to move forward and preventing you from following your destiny.
  • Common psychological symptoms of an unbalanced root chakra:  loneliness, insecurities, feeling ungrounded, unconfident, abandoned, indecisive, depressed, anxious, addictions, phobias, obsessions.
  • Common physical symptoms of an unbalanced root chakra:  lower-back pain, sciatica, varicose veins, constipation, diarrhea, rectal/anal problems, impotence, water retention, and problems with groin, hips, legs, knees, calves, ankles, and feet.
  • Balancing and Healing the Root Chakra:
Balancing and opening the root/base chakra also known as the first Chakra allows negative emotions to be released, regenerating confidence and your will to move forward in life, putting your best foot forward. A healthy root/base chakra promotes feelings of security in the home, in finances and encourages exploration to find your life's purpose and achieve success.  A balanced root chakra also generates the flow of energy to all other chakras.  It is the most important Chakra to keep in balance and out of all of my clients that have root chakra issues it just about always sends all the other energy centers out of balance.

The Sacral Chakra -  The Orange chakra located below the belly button.  Its Sanskrit name is svadhisthana.   It is associated with our connection to other people, creativity, energy, confidence, and sexual health.

If the sacral chakra becomes unbalanced, This is quite literally the cup of life, right from the womb creating life to the center where all your creative energy is birthed.Strongly connected to issues around sexuality, relationships and sensuality. The sacral chakra is one for the ladies especially. Healing here can create profound life changes.
  • Common psychological symptoms of an unbalanced sacral chakra:  eating disorders, addictions, low self-confidence, dependency issues, low libido, and unbalanced emotions.
  • Common physical symptoms of an unbalanced sacral chakra:  kidney problems and urinary tract infections, chronic lower back pain, sexual disorders, infertility (I have many people come to me to balance this one before starting their family or if they've had a hard time getting pregnant), gynecological problems, dysfunctional menstrual cycles, and problems with the intestines, spleen, and gallbladder.
Healing the Sacral Chakra: How about some Affirmations for this one.
  • "I am exactly where I need to be in my life"
  • "I belong"
  • "I deserve pleasure"
  • "I love and accept myself, I am perfect just the way I am"
  • "I easily allow pleasure and sensuality into my life"
  • "I am in charge of my own healthy, sexual fulfillment"

Other options are eating more orange based foods, wearing orange or using some of the fantastic affirmations above.

The  Solar Plexus -  The Yellow chakra located at the diaphragm or just above the belly button.  Its Sanskrit name is manipura.  It is associated with our physical center, energy,  personal power, desire, inner-strength, self-worth, self-confidence, instincts, and “gut” feelings.

If the solar plexus chakra becomes unbalanced, you may feel very stressed all the time and powerless to gain control, leaving you mentally and physically exhausted.   You may have “gut” feelings but are not sure of what or where they are coming from, contributing to your distress and discomfort.  The stress of an unbalanced solar plexus chakra also contributes to poor memory and concentration.
  • Common psychological symptoms of an unbalanced solar plexus chakra: lack of memory and concentration, frequent fearing, feeling uncentered, sugar addictions, insomnia, and eating disorders.
  • Common physical symptoms of an unbalanced solar plexus chakra:  digestive and intestinal disorders, indigestion, food allergies, eating disorders, poor metabolism, diabetes, obesity, eczema, acne, and other stress-related skin conditions.
  • Healing the Solar Plexus Chakra:
Balancing and opening the solar plexus chakra allows you to feel centered in your mind, body, and spirit.  Relaxed and comfortable in your own skin.  The energy of this chakra permeates to the other chakras relieving many physical and psychological dis-eases or disorders.  It allows you to be more aware of your own energy and being, comfortable in your decisions, and psychically connected to your “gut” feelings so that you may act accordingly with confidence.
  • Yoga Poses : Cobra, Cow, Camel
  • Herbs:fennel, Chamomile
  • Essential Oils/Spices: lemon, anise, cardamom
  • Bach Flower: impatiens, scleranthus
  • Aromatherapy: sage, geranium
  • Metal: iron
  • Gemstones: amber, citrine, tiger's eye, moonstone

The Heart Chakra: The Green chakra located in the region of the physical heart.  Its Sanskrit name is anahata.  The heart chakra is the center of your spirit as well as the center of the chakras, making it a vital energy center for our spiritual, mental, and physical well-being. It is associated with love, compassion, safety, trust, adventure, self-compassion, forgiveness, and relationships.
Your heart chakra is about deep, unconditional love. Forgiveness is essential in balancing this energy center as it is a gateway for all the others (both yourself and others).
See the beauty in you, feel love and forgiveness there first and it will radiate outward into your experience.
If the heart chakra becomes unbalanced, you may feel detached from the world around you. If unbalanced or blocked it can lead to a disconnection from the people we love, love for ourselves, and love for the earth.  Problems in relationships heighten and we tend to lose hope much quicker.  We lose sight of beauty, love, empathy, and compassion.
  • Common psychological symptoms of an unbalanced heart chakra: apathetic, faithlessness, unforgiving, hopelessness,  distrustful, uncommitted, and detached.
  • Common physical symptoms of an unbalanced heart chakra: pneumonia, asthma, breast problems, respiratory problems, upper-back pain, shoulder and upper-arm pain, and premature aging,
  • Healing the Heart Chakra:
Balancing and opening the heart chakra enhances the love for self and others.  It allows you to feel compassion, empathy, and forgiveness for others, and reconnects you to the loving world around you.  You are able to connect with the child-like world vision of beauty you were born with, generating adventure and zest for life.  Peace and harmony flourish in relationships with others and self.
    Heart Chakra Affirmations
  • “I completely love and accept myself”
  • "I am perfect just as I am"
  • “I am willing to love others as they are”
  • “Love is everywhere”
  • “My heart is open to love”
  • “I love who I am”

The Throat Chakra: The Blue chakra located at the base of the throat. Its Sanskrit name is vishuddha. The throat chakra is associated communication, expression, freedom, responsibility, and leadership.

If the throat chakra becomes unbalanced, you may feel you are unable to communicate verbally, physically, and emotionally in a loving way to yourself or others.  The throat chakra connects us to our ability to express ourselves, therefore creating a number of issues if this chakra is blocked or unbalanced, particularly from subconscious attitudes or feelings becoming trapped and unable to surface or spill out in conversation.  Severe trauma can cause this chakra to close, making it very difficult to express emotion.
  • Common psychological symptoms of an unbalanced throat chakra: nervousness, anxiety, fear, attention deficit disorders, poor coping skills, feeling isolated.
  • Common physical symptoms of an unbalanced throat chakra: problems with the nasal area, irritated sinuses, sore throat, jaw pain and TMJ, voice loss, thyroid problems, teeth and gum problems, and ailments of the esophagus and tonsils.
  • Healing the Throat Chakra:
Balancing and opening the throat chakra allows you to express your feelings and communicate freely, without worry of criticism or judgment from yourself or others.  It promotes honesty and harmony with our feelings and actions, and helps us to live more authentically and free.  A balanced throat chakra helps us with successful communication in relationships and in business/work related settings, and is especially helpful to those with careers relying on communication and self-expression.
  • Herbs: peppermint, sage
  • Essential Oils/Spices: eucalyptus, camphor,peppermint, star anise
  • Bach Flower: agrimony, cerato
  • Aromatherapy: chamomile, lavender
  • Metal: mercury
  • Gemstones: turquiose, lapis lazuli, blue topaz

The Third Eye Chakra:  The Indigo chakra located between and just above the physical eyes, in the center of the brows. Its Sanskrit name is ajna.  The third-eye chakra is associated with the mind, ideas, thoughts, dreams, intuition and Intuitive abilities.

If the third-eye chakra becomes unbalanced, we may feel bombarded with our own thoughts, unable to process them effectively and may feel stuck in an emotional and intellectual rut.  We lose our sense of intuition, making our judgment clouded and causing us to make poor decisions.  With a blocked third-eye chakra, we become closed to new ideas and fall off the paths of our true destiny.
  • Common psychological symptoms of an unbalanced third-eye chakra: headaches and migraines, nightmares, seizures, neurological disorders, personality disorders and neuroses, learning difficulties, and hallucinations.
  • Common physical symptoms of an unbalanced third-eye chakra: eye problems, glaucoma,  scalp/hair issues.  Headaches and trouble sleeping are common indicators that this  chakra needs a tune up.  Some people like myself often get pressure around the head in what feels like a tight hat on your head, this is also an indicator your third eye is blocked and needs clearing.
  • Healing the Third-Eye Chakra:
Balancing and opening the third-eye chakra promotes clarity, inspiration, and innovation.  It allows us to follow our dreams and enhances our innate psychic abilities and spiritual connections.  A balanced third-eye chakra helps us process the timeline of our own lives, enabling us to learn from our past, be present in the now, and see and achieve our future.   Dream interpretation becomes easier, intuitions are stronger and clearer.
  • Third Eye Chakra Affirmations
  • "I am willing to trust my intuition"
  • "My intuition and awareness is a gift"
  • "I focus on what I love and it comes to me"
  • "I love to play in my imagination"
  • "I connect easily to my higher power"

As the seat of intuition and wisdom, an open and balanced Third Eye allows you to see life accurately. Taking things in stride, you know what you want in life and how you plan to get there. Depending on how open your sixth chakra is, you may also have heightened intuition that you’ve learned to trust.

The Crown Chakra:  This Violet/purple chakra is located at the crown of the head. Its Sanskrit name is sahasrara.  It is associated with your higher power (God or your particular belief system), spirituality, divine wisdom, enlightening, connection to the universe, imagination, awareness, and optimism.  A beautiful thousand petaled lotus is the symbol for this energy center.
Indicating a full blossoming of consciousness, the fulfillment of the divine kundalini energy's journey from the root chakra the base of the spine.

If the crown chakra becomes unbalanced, we feel unconnected spiritually and as though we are living without any direction or purpose.  If there are many physical ailments and dis-eases that seem to continually surface without a root trigger or cause, it is likely to be an out-of-balance crown chakra, as this chakra affects the six energy systems below, and practically your entire being.  A blocked crown chakra can lead to depression and nervous system disorders and feelings of being lost and incomplete.
  • Common psychological symptoms of an unbalanced crown chakra: depression, confusion, loss of faith, mentally disconnected, dementia, epilepsy, schizophrenia.
  • Common physical symptoms of an unbalanced crown chakra: light sensitivity, headaches, dementia, autoimmune disorders, neurological disorders,  (the crown chakra affects the health of our brains and therefore our entire mental, physical, and spiritual health).
  • Healing the Crown Chakra:
Balancing and opening the crown chakra is essential for a deep, spiritual connection within ourselves, the universe, and God.  Energy entering and leaving the Crown facilitates our flow of positive energy with the other six chakras, and creates the outlook we hold on life.
  • Herbs: Lavender, Neroli
  • Essential Oils/Spices: lemon, frankincense, basil, cilantro
  • Bach Flower: wild rose, wild chestnut
  • Aromatherapy: lavender, ylang ylang
  • Metal: gold
  • Gemstones: amethyst, quartz, flourite, diamond

  • Crown Chakra Affirmations
  • "I am open to abundance"
  • "Love surrounds me and guides me"
  • "I trust my inner wisdom"
  • "I am love and light"
